1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences, recognise you on return visits, and collect information about how the site is used. Similar technologies (e.g. local storage, pixels) work in comparable ways.
2. What we use cookies for
The Repflection website is built to be lightweight and privacy-respecting. We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes only:
- Strictly necessary - to make the site function correctly (e.g. remembering whether you've dismissed a notice). These cannot be turned off without breaking core functionality.
- Analytics - to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These are set only if you accept analytics cookies, and IP anonymisation is requested.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking services that build user profiles for advertising.
3. Cookies we set
The cookies set on this website are:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
klaro-consent |
Stores your cookie consent choices (set by our Klaro consent manager) | 180 days | Strictly necessary |
_ga |
Google Analytics 4 - distinguishes visitors so site usage can be measured in aggregate | 2 years | Analytics (only with your consent) |
_ga_<container-id> |
Google Analytics 4 - maintains session state for usage measurement | 2 years | Analytics (only with your consent) |
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, the _ga cookies are not set.
4. Third-party services
Our fonts, stylesheets and scripts are hosted on our own servers. The only third-party service that sets cookies on this website is Google Analytics 4, which is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies.
5. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Our consent banner - on first visit you can accept or decline analytics cookies through our consent banner (powered by Klaro). Your preference is remembered for 180 days; you can change it at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of every page.
- Browser settings - most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their privacy settings. Refer to the help documentation for your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
- Opt-out tools - for analytics services that support them, you can install browser-level opt-out add-ons.
Disabling cookies entirely may affect how some site features work, but core content will remain accessible.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent version.
